This is a fact only because people make it their business to be offended by others’ relationships. In other words, people themselves create the issue. There is nothing inherently offensive about any relationship.

Nevertheless, I agree that, if Aunt Patty had kept her opinion to herself and treated her niece with tolerance, everyone would have been much better off.
