If 1 in 7 women haven’t masturbated, that’s 14%. If 95% of men have masturbated, that’s 5% of men who haven’t.
So 14% of women don’t masturbate, and 5% of men don’t. That’s a difference of only 8%. The headline of this article could be “8% more women than men have never masturbated” . . . which doesn’t sound like a lot.
Now, this topic is still a worthy topic. I agree that there is an unhealthy stigma associated with masturbation, especially for women. But I would have included only the “1 in 7” figure, not the 95% of men. Why? That difference of only 8% makes the topic seem not that important.
