Superman, Despite Being “Champion of the Oppressed,” Refuses to Wear Mask in Public

As the world is wracked with the coronavirus outbreak, people are looking at the world’s superheroes and asking why some of them don’t wear masks.
And it starts with Earth’s mightiest hero, Superman.
In a new interview with the Daily Planet’s Lois Lane, the Man of Tomorrow talked about his guise-less approach.
“There are quite a few of us, actually,” he said. “Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, the Martian Manhunter. Not all of the Justice League decided on masks. For some of us, it isn’t part of the image we’ve cultivated over the years.”
Asked if things are different now that confirmed COVID-19 cases have topped 1.3 million in the U.S., the Man of Steel demurred. “I know people are worried, but we’ve protected the world from countless villains. We got this.”
Later, the Son of Krypton offered a biological defense: “I’m an alien. I literally don’t need to breathe.”
